The city police have intensified their search and patrolling operations in the city after the twin incidents of rowdy-sheeter Khal Nayak murdering a rickshaw-puller in broad daylight as well as a blade attack on a man at Prasadampadu.Special teams were formed to conduct searches across the city to identify the known offenders and the assailants involved in the second incident, who were suspected to be members of the dreaded Blade Batch gang. Police have nabbed 62 persons out of which 29 were members of the so-called Blade Batch and 10 history-sheeters.The commissioner also ordered West Zone ACP G Ramakrishna to conduct searches to nab drug peddlers and rowdy-sheeters with criminal antecedents. On the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, police conducted searches in One Town, Panja Centre, Railway Station Bus Station , Srinivasa Mahal Centre, Kaleswar Rao Market and Durga Ghat areas.As many as 62 persons were taken into custody out of which 10 are rowdy-sheeters and 29 are members of the Blade Batch.
The remaining people were apprehended by police as they were found moving suspiciously at night. All members of the Blade Batch were identified as ganja peddlers.. .
