IT and Panchayat Raj Minister Nara Lokesh today said that one lakh jobs would be generated in IT sector in coming two years and plans are being formulated to generate five lakh jobs in manufacturing sector in the state.Inaugurating an expansion unit of a software company here, he said that the government is making efforts to generate one lakh jobs in the IT sector during the next two years. Stating that Rayalaseema region is emerging as manufacturing hub, he said that plans are being evolved to generate five lakh jobs in manufacturing sector in the next two years. He assured to take the responsibility of generating 5,000 jobs in I T sector in Amaravathi in the coming months. He informed that 9,000 jobs, especially for women, were generated in Nellore district. Stating that Visakhapatnam in the state has emerged as IT hub, he said that the construction of iconic Millennium towers in Visakhapatnam would be completed by August. “International connectivity, social life and infrastructure are needed for the fast development IT sector, which the government is creating in the state for the growth of IT sector”, he made it clear. The government aimed at creating major infrastructure for the establishment of IT firms and manufacturing units, he said and added that despite Vijayawada is an agriculture hub, IT companies are coming here with the initiatives of Chief Minister father N Chandrababu Naidu. Mr.Lokesh, the son of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, underlined the need of encouraging small and medium entrepreneurs as well.
Mr.Lokesh, who is also Minister for Rural Development, said that efforts are being made to provide underground drainage system to Village panchayats, which have over 5,000 population.
