Even as the people in both the Telugu States were groaning under hot spell since mid-March, the weather forecasting centers have indicated continuance of heat wave conditions in the State for the next three days. Due to the oppressive hot spell, the people are forced to remain indoors leaving even busy roads in cities and towns deserted.
With the Sun getting hotter day after day and water becoming a scarce commodity in the mid-March, the people, especially poor and homeless, were bearing the cross. With the green parks turning into deserts with Sun’s fury, mosquitoes and tiny birds are dying and wild animals are straying into human habitations from forest in search of food and water. The ponds in Seshachalam and Nallamala forests have already dried due to the intense heat and lack of rainfall last year. The forest officials have arranged water ponds all over the forests to prevent animals from entering into the nearby villages in search of water.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad issued an alert that the day temperatures will rise by two to three degree Celsius than normal for next three days. The Department asked people to stay under cover due to the heatwave conditions.
